A new life begins

Foremost, I am an exceedingly happy young newlywed. Christy Joy is the absolute love of my life and I make no bones about saying so at every opportunity possible. Second, I begin medical school tomorrow
1. Here is a kitchen shelving system Christy and I made with my Dad, specifically designed to fit into our apartment kitchen.
2. Here are the shelves disassembled. We shipped them this way to save space. My textbooks will probably depict the human body disassembled too.
3. Here is the shelving fully assembled. I wanted to screw the shelves on piece by piece, but our design made this impossible. I bet there will be times in medical school when there’s only one way to learn something: the hard way

4. This picture is very significant. There is a long, complicated story of heroic research behind this picture. May the initiated observe and understand. Perhaps I’ll get similar mysterious messages from wise old medical professors
5. And here is the finished product, a fine example of emergent properties, the handiwork of myriad processes, perhaps a small metaphor for the extraordinary piece of workmanship I will begin studying tomorrow.
Now, none of this kitchen shelving would have taken shape without Christy. Not only was she my primary inspiration but she was working right by my side at each stage. We did it together. That’s how medical school will be too.

Ah, the process begins, before the even the first smell of formaldehyde seems into unsuspecting clothes. Thanks for the sage advice.
